Huggins, the Interpreter, having been duly sworn on previous interrogations of General OSHIMA, now continues to interpret from English to Japanese and from Japanese into English, as required in this proceeding. Q. Some time ago you gave us the names of the Military Attache and the Naval Attache that were on the Staff of your Embassy in Berlin when you returned as Ambassador the second time. Did those Attaches remain with you during the time that you were Ambassador in Germany the second time? A. There were some changes. Shall I tell you about it? Q. Yes. A. Major General Banzai was replaced by Major General Komatsu sometime in 1942. Rear Admiral Kojima replaced Rear Admiral Yokoi, either in 1943 or the beginning of 1944. In addition, Vice Admiral Nomura, the Naval member of the Military Commission, was replaced by Rear Admiral Abe, who had been in Italy. Abe was later promoted to Vice Admiral while in Germany. Q. During the time that MATSUOKA was in Berlin did Ambassador Ott attend any of the meetings that MATSUOKA had either with Ribbentrop or with Hitler? A. Only at the initial meeting, but never after that. Q. That was the meeting then that you have referred to before during this interrogation as the initial meeting, at which you stated you, MATSUOKA, Ribbentrop and Hitler were present? A. Yes. Q.
